Boeing Starliner Successfully Launches on Third Attempt
What Happened?
After two failed attempts, Boeing's Starliner spacecraft successfully launched on its third attempt on May 19, 2023. The spacecraft lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 10:34 p.m. EDT, atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket.
Astronaut Crew
Two NASA astronauts, Barry Wilmore and Michael Fincke, are aboard the Starliner. They are scheduled to spend six months on the International Space Station.
Successful Launch
The launch was successful, and the Starliner is now on its way to the space station. The spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the station on May 24.
